The Galley Room launched in Febuary 2010. A cocktail lounge bar, the focus here is not just the great drinks selection, tasty food or beautiful decor, but also making sure everyone has a great experience. While still pretty new, the bar has already been nominated for loads of awards and boasts a great team of award winning professionals. Located on the middle level of the Waterside Hotel, just down Flinders Street at 510.

The Hotel had a further two name changes in 1867 becoming the Duke of Edinburgh and in 1868 the London and Barnarvon Hotel. The Hotel had a long list of publicans including many women.

In 1915 the hotel was again renamed, this time to its current title, The Waterside Hotel.

True to Melbourne form, finding this hidden gem is well worth the effort, being greeted by a venue designed for private chats and relaxed lounging , from the night grazing menu to the comfy Italian sofas, double sided fireplace and luxurious leather booths.. Patrons are rewarded with a cocktail list second to none, using some amazing products and only fresh, seasonal produce, as well as syrups and bitters, etc that are all hand made on site, served by bartenders and floor staff that are knowledgeable, experienced and love a chat.
