Adrian Cooper is a digital consultant specialising in museums and other cultural organisations. A former head of information systems at both the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden (1988-1996) and the Victoria and Albert Museum (1996-2000), Adrian subsequently became a director of New York based Gallery Systems and worked on projects at leading museums across the US, Europe and UK.

Adrian founded Intelligent Heritage in 2003 worked as a technology & digital strategy consultant for cultural & heritage sector clients including BBC, British Film Institute, The Burlington Magazine, Tate, Ashmolean Museum, Wedgwood Museum Trust, Horniman Museum & Gardens, Museum of London, National Army Museum, The Art Fund, and The Public Catalogue Foundation.

Adrian joined museum software and digital design agency Keepthinking in September 2013.

Passionate about architecture, art, history and heritage in his youth, Mr. Massé pursued his passion by undertaking two bachelor's degrees in Classical Studies (Greek and Roman civilizations) and in Philosophy (epistemology) at the University of Ottawa. Mr. Massé began his career at the Canadian Museum of Contemporary Photography, which is associated with the National Gallery of Canada. He later took on the role of Senior Educator at the Canadian Postal Museum within the Canadian Museum of Civilizations (CMC) until 1995. Rich of his studies in art, history, and civilizations, in addition to his experience as a museologist in two great national institutions, Mr. Massé became interested in the potential of interactivity for learning purposes. At the dawn of the Internet, he envisioned the possibilities of knowledge democratization together with online interactivity and founded Idéeclic.

Pioneer in the field of the cybermuseology, Mr. Massé then devoted himself to the mission of the company and never ceased to innovate. He assembled a multidisciplinary and talented team that operates in a multi-platform context. Mr. Massé's managerial qualities ensure the success of the projects, continuous innovation, and going above and beyond the objectives. Today, as President and Chief Executive Officer, he propels Idéeclic's vision forward such that it embraces the new economy, sustainable development, total quality management, and best practices while always keeping heritage dissemination at heart.
Mr. Massé received many prizes and nominations for his work at Idéeclic and enjoys international recognition. Position: Chief, Division of Imaging and Visual Services

Alan Newman has been Chief, Division of Imaging and Visual Services at the National Gallery of Art since 2004. He heads a division of 20 photographers, image licensing, DAM and digital imaging specialists. Mr. Newman led the conversion of analog photography studios and labs at the Gallery into a full service digital imaging facility. He oversees the creation, quality control, asset management, distribution and preservation of all digital images of works of art and image metadata for collections and exhibitions. He develops permissions policies and manages the distribution and rights for images of works of art for all internal and external uses. Mr. Newman and his staff led the development of NGA Images, images.nga.gov, a new and evolving open access repository of more than 25,000 digital images of the collections of the National Gallery of Art. Mr. Newman was formerly Executive Director of Imaging Services for the Art Institute of Chicago from 1985-2004.

Alex Freeman is the Associate Director of MIDEA and has 5 years experience working in art museums. At MIDEA he leads a team of digital media experts that trains and supports art museums in the state of Texas, assisting them in the creation of engaging museum education and outreach materials for the web. At NMC he is a contributing researcher and writer for the Horizon Project, and works on digital education projects with Hewlett-Packard and the National Geographic Society.

Position: Creative Director, Digital Media

Allegra Burnette is the Creative Director of Digital Media at The Museum of Modern Art, New York, overseeing design and production for the museum's website, MoMA.org, as well as mobile devices, interpretive kiosks and digital displays. Online projects include two complete site redesigns, creating the online collection and audience-specific sites for teachers, teens, and kids, overseeing an ongoing series of award-winning exhibition sites, and extending the reach of MoMA's content through social media, mobile web and apps, and elsewhere. Offline projects include the lobby display screens program and the launch of MoMA.guide, a series of interactive kiosks. Prior to working at MoMA, Ms. Burnette created and ran a media department at the renowned museum exhibition design firm Ralph Appelbaum Associates. She has an MFA in museum exhibition planning and design from the University of the Arts, where she has also taught graduate courses in museum media. She is included in the book, Mobile Apps for Museums: The AAM Guide to Planning and Strategy, currently teaches in the online graduate program for Museum Studies at Johns Hopkins University, and also serves as president of the board of the Museum Computer Network (MCN).

Amelia Wong is an assistant professor in the Museum Studies Program at The George Washington University. Previously, she managed social media outreach at the US Holocaust Memorial Museum and has held several positions in humanities research in Los Angeles and the mid-Atlantic region. She holds a B.A. in Art History/History from UCLA and a Ph.D. in American Studies from the University of Maryland, College Park.

Amy Heibel leads the Technology and Web and Digital Media teams at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. With a background in digital storytelling, she oversees content, user experience, strategy and development for lacma.org, collections.lacma.org, mobile.lacma.org, and other museum websites, and contributes to museum-wide digital strategy.

Responsible for digital projects at the Musée de la civilisation, Ana-Laura is particularly interested in exploring new forms of museology in the digital age and ways to link them with other approaches to interactions between the museum and visitors. Ana-Laura is currently leading the digital strategy for the museum; is organizing a collaborative event, Museomix Québec (http://www.museomix.com/), working on the development of social media in museums, with a focus on new models for engagement; and continues to develop mobile applications. With an academic background in physics and museology, Ana-Laura joined the MCQ in 2009.

Position: Collections Information Data Analyst

Andrea Bour is The Cleveland Museum of Art's Collections Information Data Analyst. Andrea has worked for the Museum in a variety of roles over her 20 year career, moving from the Ingalls Library, to Collections Management, to IT. Andrea also spent two years working at the Ohio State University, helping migrate Curriculum data across database platforms, and developing a custom university-wide curriculum approval workflow application. For the past two years, Andrea has been facilitating the development of a custom, Sharepoint-based, Collection Cataloging and Management System which integrates cataloging, conservation, exhibitions and loans, document management, library catalog and digital asset management systems in a single system which promotes collaboration among staff in five different departments.

As the entrepreneurial leader of bv02 for the past 12 years, Andrew has a knack for marrying creative design thinking with leading edge technologies to effectively solve problems in a variety of sectors, including education. He consistently pushes the boundaries of digital technology by engaging with users across platforms in order to build unique interactive experiences. Leading digital design and innovation has been a focus for Andrew throughout his career, which has included roles at national companies and digital agencies.
Andrew has spent over a decade creating innovative design, strategy and development solutions as the lead strategist and founder of bv02. He has worked with notable clients such as the National Gallery of Canada, the Virtual Museum of Canada, McGill University, the Saskatchewan Ministry of Education, CAA, and OC Transpo.

Position: Video Project Manager

I am a video producer and artist engaged in strategizing the use of consumer and prosumer technology in the museum, most particularly to create a dialogue about the potential use of various modes of production to re-think how (and why) we produce video content in context of the museum. I am interested in developing ideas about video within a space, whether virtual or physical. My collaborative and freelance work has been focused on using documenting performance art and dance with experimental methods to re-create an experience through video.

I have a specialist degree in museology from St. Petersburg State University. I have also finished my Master's thesis (Museum Studies) at the University of Leicester, and I was accepted to do a PhD there. I spent two years at the IT department of the Kunstkamera museum (St. Petersburg, Russia) and I am currently collaborating with the State Historical Museum (Moscow, Russia) as a social media consultant.

I am interested in the history of museum computing, professional standards for a museum technologist, and museum theory.

Position: Head, Web and Digital Initiatives

Anne Botman is Head of Web and Digital Initiatives at the Canadian Museum of Nature. Anne is responsible for the museum’s online presence including the fully bilingual (English/French) web site, blog, social media channels and several mobile apps. Anne has more than 15 years experience in web and digital content development and has an Honours Bachelor of Environmental Studies (BES) from the University of Waterloo.

Position: Digital Audience Engagement Specialist

At the Getty, Annelisa focuses on developing colleagues' skill and interest in connecting with people through digital tools. She manages the Getty's online magazine and blog, The Iris, and the Getty Voices project, in which staff members take weekly turns on the museum's social media. Annelisa facilitates three organization-wide strategic groups: a video strategy team, a social media roundtable, and a digital audience-engagement board. She has a B.A. in the history of art from Yale University and an M.A. in Germanic linguistics from UCLA. Before joining the museum digital field, she worked in two other storytelling mediums: film and educational publishing.

Anouk Janssen is team manager in the Collections department of the KB. She set up the interdisciplinary ‘dataservices-team’ of the KB and is responsible for projects such as the first Wikipedian-in-Residence of the Netherlands (together with the National Archives), the KB-NIAS fellowship in Digital Humanities and other cultural and academic activities. She is also responsible for the editorial content of the corporate website, such as online exhibitions and blogs. Anouk holds a PhD in Art History and a MA in Dutch Law.

Position: Director for Innovation and Digital Engagement

Beck Tench is a simplifier, illustrator, storyteller and technologist. Formally trained as a graphics designer at the University of North Carolina's School of Journalism and Mass Communication, she has spent her career elbow deep in web work of all sorts - from the knowledge work of information architecture and design to the hands dirty work of writing code and testing user experiences. Currently, she serves as Director for Innovation and Digital Engagement at the Museum of Life and Science in Durham, NC where she studies and experiments with how visitors and staff use technology to experience risk-taking, community-making and science in their everyday lives.

Bettina Cousineau began a Wikimedia Commons collaboration project in 2012; working with local and distant Wikimedians she has overseen the upload of over 10k images and document files, coordinated a Wikipedian-in-Residence position, and been involved with projects in Wikisource, Wikipedia, and Wikimedia Commons. 

Bettina also teaches Wikpedia editing and talks A LOT about "10 thing you need to know about Wikipedia (but didn't know who to ask)" at branch libraries of the Kent County (Michigan) District Library system, as well as hosting Wikipedia meet-ups at the library branches.

Bettina is interested in open content. Her goal is to develop search tools to tease out public domain/open content from big data aggregators.

Bettina Cousineau is a museum exhibit designer with a deep and abiding belief that “openable” content should be open.

Position: John H. McFadden and Lisa D. Kabnick Director of Information and Interpretive Technology

Bill Weinstein is the John H. McFadden and Lisa D. Kabnick Director of Information and Interpretive Technology at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. He is responsible for all aspects of the museum's use of digital technologies and information management. In his 15 years at the PMA he has lead successful implementations of key systems including collections management and ticketing and infrastructure projects such as new data network and VoIP systems. The newly formed department has oversight over the museums interpretive technology projects including website, in gallery and mobile applications. Bill has over 30 years experience in museum technology with a focus on collection information and digital asset projects.

Position: Web Analytics & SEM Analyst

Brian Alpert has been professionally dedicated to the Web since 1996. In his current role as the Smithsonian Institution's Web Analytics and Search Engine Marketing Analyst, Brian helps Smithsonian 'web practitioners' pursue these disciplines in a variety of ways from training and consultation, to analysis and hands-on program facilitation. In his previous role as Texas Instruments' Worldwide Search Engine Marketing Manager he created and managed TI's first comprehensive, roadmapped SEM program. In addition to helping SI'ers with their web and social media analytics, Brian plays drums for a variety of bands located in-and-around his Washington DC metro area home.

Cari Frisch has been working in the Education Department at the Museum of Modern Art since 2005, where she develops programs and resources for family audiences. Programming includes family gallery conversations, art workshops, film screenings, and artist talks. She creates content for families across a variety of platforms, including activity guides, kids' web sites, and, mostly recently, an app for this audience. Cari has co-created four interactive Lab spaces at the Museum and is the co-author of Make Art, Make Mistakes, a creativity sketchbook.

Position: Director, Department of Education and Interpretation

Caroline Goeser joined the museum in 2009. She reorganized the Education Department in 2012 to focus on two primary goals: 1) invigorating classroom experiences through object-based educational programs, and 2) creating vital experiences with works of art in the galleries through interpretive text, technology, gallery teaching, and public programming for visitors of all ages. Caroline collaborates with the Chief Curator and Directors of Information Technology and Design to oversee the new Gallery One, an interactive gallery for intergenerational visitors. She has facilitated and enhanced the museum’s collaborative interpretation program, which has garnered national recognition with the recent award of an NEH Challenge Grant. With colleagues at CMA and Case Western Reserve University, she has worked to re-envision the joint CWRU-CMA doctoral program in art history, which recently received a major grant from the Mellon Foundation to focus on object-based study.

Carolyn Royston is Head of Digital Media at Imperial War Museums (IWM) and is responsible for the strategic development, delivery and provision of all public-facing digital outputs across the museum's five branches: IWM London, IWM North, IWM Duxford, Churchill War Rooms and HMS Belfast. Carolyn's work spans web, in-gallery multimedia, mobile and social media. She has transformed the museum's approach to digital engagement so that it is now central to organisational thinking and planning. She is a skilled digital project leader and manager with over 15 years of experience working in the cultural and education sectors. Prior to joining IWM in 2009, Carolyn was Project Director of the National Museums Online Learning Project where she was responsible for co-ordinating and managing the needs of nine UK national museums and galleries to create a range of digital educational resources. Before that, Carolyn worked in the private sector as Head of eLearning at Atticmedia, a top 25 UK digital agency, where she led several large web projects in the education and cultural sectors. Carolyn is a qualified teacher and worked as a primary school teacher before moving into eLearning and digital media. Carolyn also serves as a board member of MCN.

Cathryn Goodwin is Manager of Collections Information and Access at the Princeton University Art Museum. She oversees the cataloguing of works of art and images in the museum, and is responsible for online access to museum collections. Cathryn’s work has focused on the integration of collections information into museum workflows, data sharing, digital asset management, and the support of open access to Museum collections. Cathryn is a former President of the Museum Computer Network (MCN).

Charlotte Sexton is Head of Digital Media at the National Gallery, London and is responsible for engaging over 11 million physical and online visitors with its world-class collection through digital media. She sets the digital agenda for the organisation and ensures that all of its public facing digital products meets both the needs of a diverse audience whilst fulfilling strategic objectives. As part of this remit she has successfully developed the National Gallery's new Digital Engagement Strategy and is transforming the way the Gallery thinks about digital. Charlotte is highly skilled in her field and has over 15 years experience of managing digital projects and her portfolio encompasses everything from small and beautifully formed initiatives to large-scale, award-winning and complex technical projects. She has hands on experience of developing for the web, mobile and in-gallery. At present Charlotte is also Vice President of the Museum Computer Network (MCN) the international network for museum professionals interested in digital technologies and is a Visiting Professor at IDEC_ Pompeu Fabra University, in Barcelona on the Museum Management Postgraduate course. Prior to joining the National Gallery London, Charlotte worked independently as an Interaction and UX Designer for numerous media, heritage and arts clients, was a Director of a .com company and has been a fine art filmmaker and photographer.

Cheryl is the Web Manager at the Royal Ontario Museum. Since 2007, Cheryl has worked on the ROM's web team and played a key role managing the redesign of the Museum's website in 2012. She holds a Master of Library and Information Science Degree and her involvement with web development spans ten years.

Position: Digital Project Manager

Chris Edwards is the Digital Project Manager for Yale University Library. Working with library units, he is responsible for planning, managing, and implementing medium to large-scale digital projects within the Yale University Library system, funded internally or by such partners as the Arcadia fund or NEH. In Chris’ previous role as the Digital Studio Production Manager at Yale University’s Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library, he helped to establish and build the current digitization program, creating both high-resolution digital images for publication and medium resolution images for use in the Beinecke’s digital library. Chris is active in standardizing imaging practices throughout the Yale Library system and the University as a whole.

Position: Digitisation Programme Manager

Christy has 12 years' experience working on digitisation projects in the libraries and archives sector. She has been managing the Wellcome Library's digitisation programme for 6 years, overseeing large-scale digitisation of the Library's collections and the creation of a digital library that launched in early 2013. In 2010, Christy initiated the JP2K-UK Group to share knowledge about and encourage the use of JPEG 2000 as a format for archiving images by UK cultural institutions and beyond.

Cooper is a fourth-year student of geography at Dartmouth College, and an unabashed map nerd. An amateur cartographer, Cooper has designed maps that have featured on Wired.com and won international awards. In early 2013, Cooper interned at Second Story Interactive Studios, where he worked on a number of cartographic museum installations and interactive learning tools. Over the course of this internship, Cooper developed a keen appreciation for the behind-the-scenes development of digital content. So much did Cooper enjoy this experience, in fact, that after he graduates Dartmouth in spring 2014, he hopes to pursue a career in digital media production, and/or cartography. He's delighted to share some of his knowledge of the cartographic process with the MCN community this year.

Corey Timpson is responsible for directing all design, digital media, and collections-based initiatives related to, and supporting all aspects of, the Canadian Museum for Human Rights (CMHR) — research, exhibits, educational and public programming, and corporate. Corey also chairs the CMHR inaugural exhibition project’s (50,000 square feet of exhibits) steering committee.

Corey's primary focus at the CMHR is to facilitate interactive and dialogic experiences between and among visitors (on-line and on-site) through the use of digital media and technology relying on sustainable, scalable, and efficient interaction and data models.

Corey has a B.A. in Law from Carleton University and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Interactive Multimedia from Algonquin College of Applied Arts & Technology. Prior to accepting his role at the CMHR, Corey spent 8 years at the Canadian Heritage Information Network and the Virtual Museum of Canada where he led the interface and creative design, information architecture, and web management teams, working with a large number of Canada's 3000 museums, on digital innovation projects.

Corina MacDonald is an information specialist and developer. She completed a Masters degree in Library and Information Studies in 2008 at McGill University, with a specialization in knowledge management. Her professional interests include the role of open content, technologies and standards in community and capacity building, electronic publishing and digital heritage. She worked as a heritage information analyst at the Canadian Heritage Information Network from 2008 to 2010 before beginning work as an independent consultant for digital cultural projects. She is currently the Project Manager for the e-artexte repository for visual arts publishing, and a freelance webmaster and trainer.

Cristiano Bianchi has degrees in architecture from University of Florence and in Virtual Architecture from University College London. He lectured extensively on both subjects, as well as in interactive design and software development. In 2001 he started Keepthinking, converting from the design of physical architecture to the design of information spaces. Keepthinking works exclusively with museums, archives, libraries and other cultural organisations, helping them manage and present their information in a beautiful, accessible and sustainable way.

Dana leads digital strategy for education at the National Gallery of Art. She specializes in leveraging technology to help nonprofits engage constituents, demonstrate value, and stay relevant. Her past positions include: Account Director at Ogilvy Public Relations; Adjunct Faculty in Museum Studies at The George Washington University and Johns Hopkins University; Chief of Digital Outreach and Engagement at the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History; and Online Communications & Publishing Coordinator at the Kaiser Family Foundation. Dana holds a B.A. in English from St. Mary's College of Maryland and an M.A. in Museum Studies from The George Washington University.

David Hart is a Media Producer in the Digital Media department at The Museum of Modern Art. He works on websites and educational initiatives in addition to producing video content for MoMA.

David Stevenson works as a Conservator at the Canadian Centre for Architecture in Montreal, Quebec.  There, in addition to traditional conservation practice, he maintains a focus on the preservation of digital and audio visual material. David holds an MA in Digital Heritage from the University of Leicester School of Museum Studies.

Position: Head of Collection Digitization

Diana Folsom has long been involved with museum technology projects, from a first generation collection digitization program to the steve social tagging project and recently the Online Scholarly Catalogue Initiative (OSCI) at LACMA. Ms. Folsom is now heading up the effort to bring the 300,000+ collection online for the Thomas Gilcrease Institute of American History and Art (Gilcrease Museum) in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She served on the AAM Media & Technology Committee for many years; has been on the board of MCN since 2010 and has served as MCN Treasurer since 2011.

As technology continues to open the world of creative production to a broader spectrum of society, it's important for art museums to open their doors to new kinds of participation and engagement with their collections. As Manager of the Media Lab at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Don's job is to foster a creative ecosystem that encourages a dynamic engagement between museum staff and creative technologists, allowing the museum's content and expertise to inspire, while providing fresh ideas with the resources, venue, and freedom necessary to grow.

Don Williams is founder of Image Science Associates, a digital
imaging consulting and software group. Their work focuses on
quantitative performance metrics for digital capture imaging devices, and
imaging fidelity issues for the cultural heritage community. He has taught
short courses for many years, contributes to several imaging standards
activities, and is a member of the Advisory Board for the interagency US
Federal Agencies Digitization Guidelines Initiative, FADGI.

Position: Director of Technology

Douglas Hegley moved into the world of museum technology in 1997, following earlier stints within higher education and pediatrics research. During 14 years at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, he focused on implementing technology that served the mission of the institution, and on creating a dynamic and responsive technology operation. Later, his focus turned to the production and management of digital content, and sharing it across audiences. In 2011, he joined the staff of the Minneapolis Institute of Arts as the Director of Technology. Mr. Hegley's current responsibilities include setting the vision and strategy for the technology and digital media initiatives at the museum, and leading projects through to completion. Throughout his career, he has endeavored to build open communication and active collaboration across organizations, and has served on several national-level boards and steering committees. With his formal background in Psychology, he has an underlying focus on human-computer interaction and the capacity for technology to augment and enhance the ways that people accomplish their goals.

Dustin Wees is currently Director of Metadata and Cataloging at ARTstor, a nonprofit image library for the arts and sciences. Dustin’s experience early in his career teaching art history at Skidmore College and then running the photograph and slide library at the Clark Art Institute provided important preparation for managing the aggregation in the ARTstor Digital Library of large-scale, disparate data sets from a variety of contributors. Dustin has also been active for many years in the visual resources and cultural heritage standards communities, working with the Visual Resources Association’s data standards committee and with the Getty on the development of CDWA Lite. He is currently a member of the VRA Core Oversight Committee.

Ed Rodley is Associate Director of Integrated Media at the Peabody Essex Museum. As Head of Web, New Media & Outreach at the Smithsonian Institution Archives, Effie Kapsalis uses technology to provide the public meaningful experiences with the Smithsonian's vast archives which are a vital part of American history, scientific exploration, and international cultural understanding. To increase awareness and use of the Smithsonian's collections and resources, she contributes to several efforts across the Smithsonian to encourage open access and increased visitor engagement including Flickr Commons, Wikipedia, and Historypin. She has more than 15 years experience managing, designing, and developing content for online environments in museum, corporate, and educational settings. She received her master's degree in industrial design at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA in 2003.

Eleanor E. Fink has held senior positions at the Smithsonian, J. Paul Getty Trust, and World Bank. Currently she serves as an art and technology consultant for the Information Sciences Institute (ISI) at the University of Southern California where she is establishing an alliance around Linked Open Data as a means of providing seamless access to art information across museums, libraries, and archives.

At the World Bank she served as the point person for relations with public and private foundations. Prior to the World Bank, she was Director of the J. Paul Getty Trust’s Information Institute (GII) where she led the development of information policies and standards needed to document, manage, and protect cultural property. The Getty Vocabularies, CDWA and Object ID are some of the products of her leadership.

Before joining the J. Paul Getty Trust, she was Chief of the Office of Research Support at the Smithsonian American Art Museum where she directed several research projects.

Eleanor is a former Director of the Museum Computer Network and Visual Resources Association. Currently she serves on the board of several organizations and is co-chair of EuroMed 2014 World Congress on Cultural Heritage to be held in Cyprus in November 2014.

I recently completed my doctoral degree in Anthropology/Archaeology from the University of Virginia and moved to Seattle to pursue a career in the museum sector. During my graduate career, I became deeply aware of and troubled by the disconnect between what people thought I did as an archaeologist versus what I actually did. Consequently, I prioritize working with projects that design and implement face-to-face programs and web interfaces for connecting archaeologists and other scientists with members of the public. I am particularly interested in crowdsourcing and Citizen Scientist projects that allow the public to directly participate in scientific research.

I am also interested in the Open Authority movement and how it can help museums better engage and interact with their communities. I am invested in making community members active stakeholders in the development and success of museums.

Emily Gore is the Director for Content of the Digital Public Library of America. In this role, Emily oversees the Digital Hubs Pilot Project and coordinates content workflows for DPLA. Emily came to the DPLA after working for 12 years in digital library and technology development in academic and state libraries. Most recently, Emily served as the Associate Dean for Digital Scholarship and Technology at Florida State University Libraries. Emily's work has largely focused on building digital collection collaborations among cultural heritage institutions. Emily managed the former statewide digital library in North Carolina, NC ECHO, and co-directed the South Carolina Digital Library. Emily also served as Principal Investigator for the IMLS-funded Open Parks Grid project at Clemson University, a collaboration among the libraries, campus IT, Parks and Recreation professionals and the National Park Service. She has a Master's degree in Library and Information Studies from the University of Alabama, a BA in English/Technical Writing from Clemson University and is a 2011 graduate of the Frye Leadership Institute.

Eric Langlois is professor of museology and heritage at the Université du Québec en Outaouais (UQO). He was responsible for creating the first undergraduate program in Cybermuseology in Canada. After a career devoted to developing Cybermuseology applications (sites, games, exhibitions), in 2002 UQO hired him to develop this program for the École multidisciplinaire de l’image (ÉMI). He also created, along with Professor Nada Guzin Lukic, the first complete degree in museology and heritage. UQO is the only Canadian university to offer such a program. Combining theory and practice, he creates projects for various organizations and has formed a network of partners around UQO, including national museums, government agencies and local organizations. In addition to practice in the field, this program also invests in various theoretical issues. His unique expertise is recognized in Canada and abroad.

Professor Langlois has been interested in Cybermuseology issues since the beginning of public access to the Internet. His academic research focuses on Cybermuseology, especially digital images representative of objects in museum collections or - referential performance of digital images representing the artifact, eco-fact or work of art in the interface context. Since 2002, he has also received grants to conduct several research projects, including work on mobile technologies for CHIN, since 2010. He is particularly involved in the International Council of Museums (ICOM), and has served on the sub-committee “International Committee for Audiovisual, Image and Sound and technologies (AVICOM). In 2008, in collaboration with the Department of Canadian Heritage, the Université du Québec en Outaouais (UQO) and Idéeclic, he organized the International Festival of Audiovisual & Multimedia on Heritage (Fiamp) (through AVICOM) at UQO, which brought together a host of international experts. He was also part of the teaching team at ÉMI of UQO, who initiated a new interdisciplinary Master of Arts program (concentration in the arts and museum).

Erica Gangsei is Manager of Interpretive Media at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, where she writes and co-produces audio tours, artist video interviews, podcasts, and onsite educational spaces. Recent media projects include the online storytelling tool StoryBoard; videos with contemporary artists such as Barry McGee, Parra, Will Rogan, and Naoya Hatakeyama; and audio tours with Mark di Suvero and Garry Winogrand. She is curator of SFMOMA’s crowdsourced games exhibition ArtGameLab, and co-curator of Ahhhcade and experimental pop-up arcade presented in conjunction with the 2013 Game Developers Conference, and has written and spoken about games in museums in the capacity. Gangsei is also a sculptor, animator and installation artist who has exhibited widely in the Bay Area and nationally. She is deeply involved in the Bay Area art community, and recently concluded a board term at The Lab, an interdisciplinary experimental non-profit gallery in the Mission. Erin Coburn is an independent consultant to museums and the cultural heritage sector specializing in building digital media programs and leading digital strategy for institutions of all sizes. Her focus is on creating scalable and sustainable solutions for using digital media to enhance the visitor experience in-gallery, online, and through mobile solutions.

Most recently she was the Chief Officer of Digital Media at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, where she led the creation, production, presentation, and dissemination of multimedia content to support the viewing and understanding of the Met's collections and exhibitions, both within the galleries and online. Prior to this, Erin was Head of Collection Information & Access at the J. Paul Getty Museum. Heidi Quicksilver is currently the Digital Asset Manager at the Jewish Museum in New York. She's formerly the Digital Archive Manager at LACMA (Los Angeles County Museum of Art), currently implementing an inaugural DAMS for the Robin Hood Foundation in NYC. Heidi helped configure an inaugural institution-wide DAMS for LACMA, handling both collection and non-collections assets and spanning 12+ departments. She has helped LACMA launch a new online collection with nearly 20,000 high-quality images of the collection for free download, and 80,000+ collection images total, all powered by the DAMS. She has worked with digital assets in museums since 2001 specializing in configuring digital asset management systems. While working for the Minneapolis Institute of Arts she assisted the implementation of the inaugural DAMS for the Visual Resources archive of collection and non-collection assets.

Hugues Sweeney is head of French-language interactive media production at the National Film Board of Canada, based in Montreal. James Shulman serves as ARTstor's President. Working with his colleagues, he developed and implemented plans for creating an organization that now provides a digital library of over 1.6 million images to over 1,500 colleges, universities, schools, and museums around the world; ARTstor also provides the Shared Shelf cataloging and asset management service, and manages a number of free and open services including Images for Academic Publishing and the Built Works Registry (with the Avery Library and the Getty Research Institute). Jane Alexander is the Director of Information Management and Technology Services for the Cleveland Museum of Art. Jane is responsible for creating, ongoing iteration, and advocacy of a vision for technology implementation best applied to Cleveland Museum of Art's (CMA) mission as well as long-term strategic plan for Information Management Systems, Media Services and Technology Services. Under her project management and collaboration with the Chief Curator and the Director of Education and Interpretation, the CMA completed Gallery One and the revolutionary ArtLens mobile app that transformed the museum into one of the most technologically advanced and engaging art destinations in the world.

Jane earned a BA in Architecture and an BS/MS in Applied Mathematics from Columbia University. Jeanne DeBonis is The Cleveland Museum of Art's Web Developer hired in 2011 to bring the museum's website development in-house. Her background includes client- and server-side programming in several languages as well as information design and content management. In her first two years at the museum, Jeanne's major project was successfully migrating the museum's website from a Sitecore content management system to Drupal.

Jeanne holds bachelor's degrees in both art and engineering. Before coming to the museum she served as the web and new media specialist and photographer at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo. Jeanne began her career as a wind tunnel test engineer at NASA.

Jiri Frank is an experienced scientist in the field of palaeontology (PhD. from Charles University), specializing in Cretaceous and recent Nautilids. Jiri has led several paleontological projects at Charles University and is involved in scientific projects in the Department of Palaeontology of the Natural History Museum, National Museum in Prague. Jiri has a master's degree in education of biology and geology from the Faulty of Natural Sciences, Charles University, and is also involved in education activities and projects. Jiri currently works in the National Museum as a coordinator of European projects and is involved in the modernisation of the digital collections management systems and its connection with external sources and platforms. In the BHL-Europe project, he headed the development of the online exhibition "Biodiversity Library Exhibition" (which still continue), development of the user interface and several functionalities for the BHL-Europe portal and was involved also as testing manager. In the OpenUp! project, Jiri coordinates both WP8, and the Outreach and Dissemination group. In both projects Jiri collaborated on the dissemination and outreach strategies. In the Europeana Creative project, Jiri leads the Natural History Education Pilot, which develops case studies demonstrating the collaboration of memory institutions with the creative industry, and effective usage of natural history content published online. Jiri also actively promotes projects at international conferences and events, and is active in publishing various projects' results. Jiri is also an active member of the internal CETAF group for investigation and preparation of EC projects proposals and is a vice chair in the BHL Global consortium.

Joan Fragaszy Troyano is a Research Assistant Professor at the Center for History and New Media at George Mason University. She currently is working on the development of the PressForward software platform to improve the aggregation, curation, and publication of scholarship, and is the managing editor of "Digital Humanities Now" and the "Journal of Digital Humanities." Joshua Jeffery serves as the Manager of Digital Engagement for the Andy Warhol Museum, where he oversees strategy and implementation of the museum's presences on the web, mobile devices, social media, and through in-gallery interactives. As a member of the four Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh, he has also served on various roles across the institute. Since joining the Warhol in 2010, he has re-designed and launched warhol.org, designed and produced The Warhol: DIY POP and The Warhol: Art apps, greatly expanded the Museum's social media presence, and created various web and in-gallery interactive experiences including a newly-opened Screen Test Interactive.
Prior to The Warhol, Josh founded a technology startup in Pittsburgh with colleagues from Carnegie Mellon University, where he completed a masters degree in Entertainment Technology in 2009. Kirsten has an academic background in Dutch languages and cultural studies and specialized in project and program management of digitization projects within the cultural sector. In 2010, Naturalis Biodiversity Center received substantial funding for the digitization of seven million of the estimated 37 million objects in its collection. Therefore, Naturalis developed a program for the mass digitisation of the collections. Objects at Naturalis are digitized in production lines called digi-streets, with a a temporary staff of 70 people, or by outsourcing. Kirsten is responsible for the overall management of this large-scale digitization program.

Recently Laura has worked on mobile program operations for SFMOMA, a web, mobile and kiosk project for the Natural History Museum of Utah and a redesign of the Berkeley Public Library website.

For the past nine years, Laura has been Business Development Director at Mediatrope Interactive Studio, developing award-winning websites and gallery interactives for museums throughout the United States. Previously, Laura led the US business development team at Antenna Audio (now Antenna International), the world's leading provider of audio and multimedia guides. Laura has worked on dozens of museum projects including online exhibitions for the International Museum of Women, large-scale website redesigns and gallery interactives for the Smithsonian and MFA Boston, and mobile programs for clients from the J.Paul Getty Museum to the Newport Mansions. Laura holds a B.A. in the History of Art from the University of Pennsylvania and she was a Ph.D. Mellon Fellow in the History of Art at the University of California, Berkeley.

Laura has particular experience working on complex projects that bring together multiple museum departments. She is a strong believer in visitor-driven experiences and the importance of sustainability in museum technology projects.

Lori Byrd Phillips is the Digital Marketing Content Coordinator and the former Wikipedian in Residence at The Children's Museum of Indianapolis, the largest children's museum in the world. Lori holds an MA in museum studies from Indiana University-Purdue University of Indianapolis and is a leader within the GLAM-Wiki initiative, an international group of volunteer Wikipedians who help cultural institutions broadly share resources through collaborative projects with Wikipedia. Her research centers on the concept of Open Authority, a term she developed to describe the integration of open, collaborative digital communities with museum dialogue and interpretation.

In 2012 she served on the Advisory Board for the New Media Consortium Horizon Report: Museum Edition. She has been published in Curator: The Museum Journal, the American Association of Museum's "Museum" member magazine, and is a contributing blogger for the New Media Consortium's MIDEA blog on museum technology.

Lorraine Goodwin manages the production and content development of onsite and online interpretive media (including videos, digital interactives, multimedia tours, and education websites) for special exhibitions, the collection, and education programs at the Asian Art Museum. Marjee is a founding member of the Games, Learning, and Society Conference and co-chaired the conference in 2006. She worked as an associate instructional designer at PBS and presented on the topic of designing for inter-generational play at Games for Change in 2009 and was a judge for best educational game via Games for Change in 2010. She studied video games in education at University of Wisconsin-Madison with Jim Gee and has multiple published and co-published works on the topic of games and education. Her blog posts and webinars deal with the topic of designing for transgressive play and designing games to be useable in dynamic environment for EduWeb, Free Tech for Teachers, and BrainPop. As the Director of Digital Media for The JASON Project, Marjee lead production and design for a dozen or so games and interactives. This became the National Geograohic games center, which had well over 4 million plays and won a CODIE for Best Educational Game in 2010. In her current position as Education Technology Specialist at The Smithsonian, she'll be embarking on some exciting games projects in the near future and is excited about building games for mobile.

Sabrina Greupner is Manager of the Weston Family Innovation Centre at the Ontario Science Centre in Toronto, Canada. She currently leads a team that produces digital content for the Science Centre's online and on-site experiences, including the daily current science featured in the Weston Family Innovation Centre's "Hot Zone" and online at: www.ontariosciencecentre.ca/ScienceNow.

With a background in Digital Media and Education, including 13 years' experience as a teacher in Ontario's secondary school system, Sabrina Greupner moved to the Ontario Science Centre in 2001 as a Science Writer/Editor. In 2003, she was the lead content developer of StrangeMatterExhibit.com, an award-winning website produced collaboratively with the Materials Research Society and the NSF as part of the Ontario Science Centre's Strange Matter exhibition.

In 2005, Ms. Greupner joined the Ontario Science Centre's $47-million "Agents of Change" renewal initiative, working with outside contractors to develop the VCMS (Venue Content Management System) that drives the digital experiences in the Weston Family Innovation Centre. She managed the planning, development and production of content for over 60 high-tech interactive experiences designed to encourage young people to explore the boundaries of science and technology. With more than 120 digital display devices fed by a network of over 100 computers, the system continues to provide the regularly updated current science content that visitors see on our floor every day.

Ms. Greupner is interested in the use of new interactive technology in the delivery of science content both on-site and online, and is currently leading the Ontario Science Centre's drive to integrate Augmented Reality experiences as part of the new Human Edge exhibition scheduled to open in late 2013.

Stierch is currently the Program Evaluation Community Coordinator for the Wikimedia Foundation, Wikipedian in Residence at the World Digital Library, and is still providing private consulting services.

Stierch's passion lies in community organizing, research, open culture & knowledge outreach. She has layered these interests by exploring how cultural institutions can work with open sharing technology, such as Wikipedia, to broaden public awareness and interest in their collections holdings. Sheila A. Currently, she is the end user coordinator for the Omeka digital publishing platform and is co-leading the development of Hidden Histories of America's Front Lawn, a mobile site uncovering the history of the National Mall. He is a member of the board of the Greater New York Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) and serves as the co-chair for the Technology Track for the New York AFP chapter's Fundraising Day, a full-day event that is attended by approximately 2,000 development professionals. Mr. Jacobson is also a member of the Museum Computer Network (MCN), the American Association of Museums (AAM) and the International Ticketing Association (INTIX).

Susan Farnand is a research scientist at the Rochester Institute of Technology. She graduated from Cornell University with a BS in Engineering and from the Rochester Institute of Technology with a Masters in Imaging Science. With a focus on human color vision and perception, she is involved with investigations into fine art reproduction, visual attention, 3D printing, printer performance evaluation and image quality assessment. She is an Associate Editor of the Journal of Imaging Science and Technology and also participates in International Standards efforts and the IS&T professional society.

Susana Smith Bautista is a scholar on museums and the arts, technology and digital culture. She received her Ph.D. in Communication as a Provost Fellow from the University of Southern California, and her Masters degree in Art History/ Museum Studies, graduating Phi Kappa Phi also from USC. Susana has over twenty years experience working in the art world in Greece, New York, and Los Angeles as an art critic, curator, Executive Director of the Mexican Cultural Institute, Editorial Director of LatinArt.com, and Arts and Culture Commissioner for the city of Pasadena. Her research focuses on the changing role of museums in the digital age, the distributed museum experience, and the socio-cultural context of how museums and arts organizations are utilizing new technologies. Her forthcoming book from Alta Mira press is titled "Museums in the Digital Age: Changing Meanings of Place, Community, and Culture," she teaches a course on Public Culture, Art, and Communication at USC, and is a Fellow with the audience research consulting firm Slover Linett.

Tina Roth Eisenberg grew up in mountainous Switzerland, influenced by renowned Swiss design and a lot of fresh air. Tina is often referred to as swissmiss, after her popular design blog, which she runs out of Brooklyn, broadcasting with a European viewpoint and a love for clean, functional Swiss design. While covering a diverse set of topics, each post is connected by a love of good design, smile-provoking gadgets, and finding beauty in everyday life. Swissmiss has a growing audience of 3.4 million monthly unique readers from all over the world and was recently selected by The Times as one of the world’s top 50 design blogs.

Trilce Navarrete (1974) is currently working as PhD researcher and lecturer at the University of Amsterdam where she specializes in the historic and economic aspects of digital heritage. She holds an MA in Cultural Economics from Erasmus University Rotterdam and an MA in Museum Management from the University of Oregon. Areas of interest include the impact of new technologies in the economics of museums, national digital heritage accounts, online interactivity and digital content management.

Troy Livingston has been Vice President for Innovation and Learning at the Museum of Life and Science in Durham, North Carolina since 2006. Prior to coming to the museum Troy held senior leadership positions in both for-profit and non-profit organizations. Trained as an educator at Northwestern University he started his career with the Boston Visiting Nurse Association, led a community-based mental health day-treatment school in Fairbanks, Alaska, worked as a management consultant to Fortune 500 clients and founded a successful advertising agency. Troy is a long term volunteer for the Duke-Durham campaign led by the Office of Durham and Regional Affairs at Duke University, a board member of the Visitor Studies Association, and Co-PI on The Exploratorium's NSF-funded project, "The Science of Sharing."

Vivian Kung Haga, Director and Chief Executive Officer, has more than 20 years of experience in cultural institutions as an administrator, curator, and educator. Before joining the Balboa Park Online Collaborative, she was at the Museum of Photographic Arts, San Diego for over nine years, first as their Director of Education and then as their Deputy Director. She oversaw the daily operations of the museum, as well as Information Technology, Operations, Facilities, Accounting, Human Resources, Visitor Relations, the Museum Store, and Marketing. She also led the Museum in cutting-edge technology, accessibility, and visitor experience initiatives including a collaboration with the University of California, San Diego, and the National Institution of Information and Communication Technology in Japan. This three-way collaboration led to the creation of an innovative touch table interface built on an open source framework that allows visitors to become curators.

Prior to her tenure at the Museum of Photographic Arts, she was a consulting Curator for ArtReach International, a traveling exhibition company, and for The Dixon Gallery and Gardens in Memphis, Tennessee. She was also the Assistant Curator at the Dixon Gallery and Gardens where she curated exhibitions, produced traveling exhibitions, and assisted in the publication of several catalogs. She held positions at Cleveland Museum of Art, where she was part of the team that created the Cleveland Museum of Art's first audio tour of over 300 messages. She also has experience in the private gallery field. Her first museum position was as an intern at the San Diego Museum of Art. She has a MA in the History of Art from Ohio State University and a BA in Art History from the University of California, San Diego. She has been on the advisory board for the NMC Horizon Report > Museum Edition.

Dr. William H. Robinson is Curator of Modern European Art at the Cleveland Museum of Art, Head of the Department of European and American Painting and Sculpture, and Adjunct Professor of Art History at Case Western Reserve University. He received his PhD in art history from CWRU in 1988, a certificate in Spanish language studies from the Universitat de Barcelona in 2001, and a certificate in management from Weatherhead School of Management, CWRU, in 2003.Dr. Robinson has organized over twenty exhibitions and written extensively on a broad range of topics concerning 19th and 20th century art, and has authored numerous publications.
