iVvy Launches iPhone Barcode Scanning App for Events Management

Imagine being able to carry your event around in your hand? Well iVvy, Australia’s fastest growing conferencing and events management application, allows you to do just this.

The iVvy Event Management software already gives you access to the platform using your smartphone or tablet, and this week they’ve added a new iPhone app that makes managing your ticketing even easier.

The new app essentially converts your iPhone into a mobile ticketing booth, allowing you to scan the barcode on your attendees’ printed tickets and give them access to your event and any additional ticketed sessions. Furthermore, when scanned, the ticket holder’s profile appears on your phone allowing you to access their name, additional purchases or information, and VIP status.

The Scanning App will also sync with the event database, immediately updating the attendee’s status. In the event of limited mobile coverage, the app will store any altered data on your phone until you can successfully reconnect with the database.

“This is just the start of our planned barcoding technology,” said Lauren Hall, CEO of iVvy. “We will also release an Android version of this app, as well as a more sophisticated commercial scanner for high volume events.”
